40 Days, 40 Bags Challenge

I read about a challenge over at Clover Lane and I thought it would be something great for me to work on! Im a busy mom and dont have alot of extra time on my hands, so I thought this would be a great, quick way for me to rid of all this extra clutter. I read about the challenge she made, 40 bags in 40 days. Basically you tackle and purge a different spot each day in your home and each day you'll have a bag of stuff. Stuff you dont need, stuff you dont want, all those extras you've been hanging onto forever!

So, for starters..I got out my trusty ol' pencil and paper and divided my house into 40 different sections. And tomarro, I'll start purging, I'll hit the first section, and the next the following day and so on...and in 40 days my house will be rid of 40 whole bags of clutter! Such a great idea!

Its a new year and new goals

Its a new year and that means new goals for me and a fresh start with the things I put off last year (hehe!). One of my goals for the new year is to eat a whole lot healthier! Last year I was overtaken by fast food! I gained over 70 lbs during my pregnancy and felt discusting! I drank Dr pepper all day long and ate fast food just about 4x a week! I feel so gross now that I think about all that! So Ive made some smaller goals to help me change my diet. Not only is this good for me but good for the whole family as well.
Drink more water..Ive never really cared for water. I might drink it if its the ONLY thing to drink on a hot summer day! Im going to force myself to drink at least 5 big glasses of water a day. The other thing I thought about was trying fruit infused water. It looks delicious! I found some great recipes here.

My basic plan is to drink 2 green smoothies a day and then a nice meal at dinner time. I want to eat more fruits and veggies and get them into every meal for the kids and hubby. I want to cut out most carbs for myself, things like pasta and potatoes (which are my favorite)...maby substitute them with veggies or quinoa.

Definately cutting out the fast food. YUCK! Makes me ill thinking about how much fast food I ate last year. or how much I spent on fast food.

There are so many yummy recipes out there for green smoothies! I can hardly wait to start trying them all and experimenting on my own. I took a picture of my first smoothie! Boy was it delicious!!!

1 cup fresh blackberries
4-5 basil leaves
1 banana
1 cup coconut milk

6 weeks old today!

Baylen is 6 weeks old today! It makes me sad how fast they grow up on us.I just love cuddlin with them when they are so small...its so special to me because it only lasts for such a small amount of time. Hes made lots of milestones already! He loves cuddling with his mama! He dont let me put him down one second..Ive been toteing him around since Ive had him! I may just have to bungie strap him to me. Its so hard to get anything done..but them when I lay him down and he starts crying...I feel like a bad mom so I pick him back up and figure out how to do whatever Im doing with just one hand. Did I mention he also sleeps on my chest EVERY night...yup. Im stuck in the recliner downstairs everynight with a baby on my chest!
Some of his other milestones:
- he loves his binkie
-he has learned to love his bath! He never really liked it much and he dont like the washing part but he loves very warm water and he loves to lay and relax in it.
-he is already enjoying 6 oz of milk! The bottle is almost as big as him!
-he holds his head up for about a min or so
-coos more and more at his mommy!
-we got big smiles now!!
-he hates cold hands and cold wipes! Always throws a fit when he is touched by cold!

I love the little photo above...crossing his eyes so he can focus in on his mama! I am so blessed.

Overnight Oatmeal Recipe

I had an early drs appt this morning and with hubby just getting home from work and he wouldnt wanna stand in the kitchen all morning long making the kids breakfast. I wanted to come up with something that would be ready when the kids woke and hubby wouldnt have to slave over the stove. It dawned on me...since I have been using my crockpot for dinners so much, whynot use it for breakfast. The first thing to enter my mind was oatmeal. My kids love it! Its warm, its yummy...you can experiment and flavor it tons of ways. So I threw together some stuff and sure enough I had oatmeal this morning! Hubby said next time I need to double the batch because there wasnt enough for seconds but it turned out great!! He even took a picture of Hudsons bowl for me, LOL! He thought I might want to scrap about it! So nice of my hubby to think of me while Im gone :)

Here is the recipe I threw together:

1 cup regular oats oatmeal
3 cups water
1 cup coconut milk
1 TBSp butter
1/4 cup brown sugar
cinnamon and some vanilla

Stir it up and cook on low for 8 hours

My Christmas Decorating has begun!

We've begun decorating our home for Christmas! We put our tree up on Thanksgiving while our delicious turkey was slowly cooking in the oven. We got it up and decorated. We put out most of the decorations but I still have a few projects planned for the couple weeks after the baby comes. These projects are mainly for the kids. I want to be able to spend some time with them after the baby is here and so I have a ton of things planned to celebrate the season! Ill be spending the next week preparing for the new baby and preparing for the weeks ahead. Getting all supplies together and grouped by project and set aside in a bin for then!

My favorite way to decorate my home is in a natural way. I love all things natural when it comes to decorating my home. This means pine cones, cranberries, sticks, leaves and what not. I love it all!

Wanted to share some cute corners in my home and the kids helping decorate..
